Psychosocial Evaluations for Immigration Cases—

Bilingual, Professional, and Prepared to Meet USCIS and EOIR Guidelines

We provide comprehensive psychosocial evaluations to support immigration cases including waivers, asylum, VAWA, U Visas, and more. Reports follow USCIS and EOIR guidelines, are delivered in a timely manner, and are conducted with care in both English and Spanish.

If you or a loved one is going through an immigration process that requires a psychosocial evaluation (also often called “psychological evaluations or letters”)  we’re here to help. At La Vida Fearless Counseling, we specialize in preparing mental health evaluations that support immigration relief applications, while ensuring every client feels respected, heard, and emotionally supported.

With nearly two decades of experience, we are trusted by immigration attorneys nationwide to deliver detailed, unbiased, and timely evaluations that hold up in court and help tell your story with accuracy and compassion.

We offer psychosocial evaluations for the following immigration cases:

  • I-601 and I-601A Waiver (Extreme Hardship) – For individuals seeking entry or to avoid deportation due to hardship their U.S. citizen or lawful resident spouse or parent would face.

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) – For survivors of domestic violence or child-to-parent abuse, including men and women, who are self-petitioning for legal status.

  • Parole in Place (PIP) – For undocumented family members of U.S. military personnel.

  • U Visa – For individuals who have been victims of crime in the U.S. and have cooperated with law enforcement.

  • T Visa – For survivors of human or labor trafficking seeking relief and protection.

  • Asylum – For individuals who fear persecution in their home country and are seeking protection in the U.S.

  • Removal/Deportation Proceedings – For those whose family member is in active court proceedings seeking to demonstrate mental or emotional hardship.

Our Evaluation Process

We understand that sharing your story can be difficult. That’s why we approach every evaluation with sensitivity and professionalism — offering a clear process, emotional support, and a space where you can speak freely. Evaluations are offered in both English and Spanish and can be completed in person or via telehealth in Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and North Carolina.

What you can expect during your three sessions:

  • Session 1: Registration, consent, and initial diagnostic testing to identify and measure symptoms, including anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.

  • Session 2: In-depth clinical interview and comprehensive mental health assessment.

  • Session 3: Clinical interview, results review, and recommendations.

  • No evaluation can guarantee the outcome of an immigration case. While ours are prepared in accordance with USCIS guidelines and can provide valuable support for your case, the final decision is always made by USCIS or the immigration court.

  • The cost of an evaluation depends on the complexity and urgency of your case. We’ll review your needs during the initial contact and provide a clear, upfront estimate before scheduling your first session.

  • You don’t need to worry about preparing anything in advance. Cecilia will guide the conversation and ask the questions needed for your report. The most important thing is to answer honestly and as openly as you can. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers — just share your experiences in your own words, and we’ll take care of the rest.
